Our visits to the learners in the Special Schools (CP) were most successful. The learners were give a laminated sheet which described an Island that was inhabited by Androids who had no clue about what disability is. The children were asked to work out in a group as to what their Island should contain as there were no accessible Schools, Houses, Shops etc. We were delighted to see how well they grasped the concept of accessibility and mentioned installing Ramp, Lower counters in Shops, widening doors into the house and all other rooms.
The success of these workshops will now be extended into other Special Schools in Gauteng. Attached hereto letters of Commendation. More to follow when we received them.
